Klitschko to take part in the European People’s Party congress in Zagreb

The mayor of Kyiv, leader of the UDAR party Vitali Klitschko will take part in the annual European People’s Party Statutory (EPP) Congress to be held on 20-21 November in Zagreb, Croatia.

This year the Assembly will bring together over 2,000 participants, in particular heads of state and government from more than 40 countries. The Congress will elect a new EPP leadership and focus on effective policies to combat climate change, on empowering the youth and the prospect ofEU membershipto twocountriesof the Western Balkans. The leader of the EPP group in the European Parliament Manfred Weber will be also in attendance. 

Founded in 1976, the European People’s Party is the EU’s largest and most influential political party. It includes 84 parties and partners from 43 countries. The EPP promotes values and principles of a strong and democratic, transparent and united Europe. The party strongly supports Ukraine on its European path and advocates maintaining sanctions on the Russian Federation.

In September 2013 the UDAR political party has received a status of the EPP observer member party.
